Conclusioni

C'è il bravo insegnante liberal, l'ispanico che si chiama Rodriguez, la strumentalizzazione politica e l'ufficiale militare che dice "my boys". In due minuti e spacca una sequela di luoghi comuni e frasi sceme (cominciando dai dialoghi fra la Streep e Cruise). Non i migliori auspici per quello che dovrebbe essere il titolo di punta MGM nella corsa agli oscar. Lo sceneggiatore Matthew Michael Carnahan (fratello del regista Joe, quello di "Narc" e "Smokin' Aces") ha all'attivo un altro thriller politico-militare in uscita ("The Kingdom" con Jamie Foxx) ma di suo ancora non si è visto nulla per poterne valutare l'abilità di scrittura. Del resto non dovrebbe essere sottovalutata la presenza di Redford dietro alla macchina da presa, finora regista equilibrato anche se talvolta prolisso ("Quiz Show" il suo film che preferisco).
